[she doesn't have like. the words, to do this, the horrible twisting vine feeling in her chest is just A Lot, and getting it out of her is impossible. she's never been able to do this. in the ninth, you swallow everything down. on the ninth, you make yourself out of iron because anything else gets scrubbed across the floorboards.
she's been sad most of her life, but that was easy to ignore, because it was just her. it's worse, she thinks, to have people who care, and have that pulled out from under you.
He finally glances around the bag to figure out what--oh. He frowns, then comes out. He moves over to sit down beside her, and he's not sure if she's in the mood for a hug, so he doesn't try to give her one right now.]
[she kind of just... dully aches, about that. like she's all scraped out with a spoon. and after a second, she just drapes over him again, like she did earlier during trial.]
[Well, that's WORSE, thanks. This is a hell he doesn't want.]

[He pats her arm. But it doesn't feel like it's enough. So, finally, he twists enough to give her a hug.]
Keep going, okay? Don't give up no matter what happens. Keep drinking--for practice. When we get there, we'll put him on the ground. Then we can decide.
...Harrowhark told me... to decide a path once I get the victory. So we should do that. We should try to win.

You know. [she starts, with a little sigh.] Itto said earlier that he was just going to go find the people that got double dead and bust them out. Like it wasn't even a question of whether he could or not, just that he was going to.
I don't talk to the demons, so I don't know anything about the party or whatever we're supposed to be doing here. Far as I can see we go until we don't. If we get to the point where we have any leverage at all, hopefully I'll be alive and remember.
[His smile is weak, but it's a smile. Brief. He nods.]
I don't know too much about the party either. They wouldn't really say... about what Satan was interested in, or what the party would be like. I think... Chandra said none of them had ever been to Satan's party before. A little weird, I guess.
