They really are both so cruel to this man though, wow. And for what! Truly for nothing!! But there's something about Akira - how he behaves, how he thinks, what he stands for - that really does rile him to his core.]
Don't ask questions that you know the answer to. It's annoying.
[He'll try to step back after that, moving away from the light embrace. He's too tired.]
[Scaramouche can pull back. Akira won't trap him like earlier in the day. Love that he is completely unaware he riles Scaramouche up so badly simply by being himself.
It'll be like Ryo then. There isn't any hope in helping Scaramouche, just like there isn't any hope in helping Ryo. Somehow, this week makes him feel extra worthless in his failure for the two of them.]
[Freedom... from the hug but not from Akira's cursed core, which haunts him!!!
But it's fine. He's terrible, so he'd feel even more satisfied if he knew that Akira felt worthless in this moment!! But even without knowing the depth of what he's feeling, he at least knows - if not from now, then from how Akira reacted in trial - that what he's done has inflicted some damage. For a creation that only wants to break what's around it, that's satisfying enough.
There's a little displeased curl of his lip at that, though.]
Shut up. I'll do whatever it is that I feel like doing.
[Why is his little skrunkly roomie so mean to him... (crying cat emote) This really does sting him to his core, especially this week. It reminds him... of dropping down in front of the humans torturing the ones they had strung up on poles and crosses because they all thought those humans were demons.
How he desperately tried to get them to be nice to each other, how he tried to convince them not to hate and fear.]
Okay.
[This week is too much hell to argue, not when he doubts himself so much already. Scaramouche, another tick box in his long list of people he couldn't help or save.
He draws away, arms at his sides, and turns around to just leave.]
[STOP NOT THE AKIRA CAT HELP ME he really is coming after Akira on this the week of insecurities, damn.
Unfortunately, he takes this as a victory of sorts for himself. Though he may not have convinced Akira of his own perspective, he's the sort of wretched existence that's satisfied enough just tearing down what's around him. There aren't any doubts in his mind that a person like this in particular will recover - later rather than sooner, if he has any luck - but for now? This is enough to soothe him, just a little. Knowing that other people are hurting is one of the only things that seems to placate the gnawing fury inside him, where a heart should be.
When Akira turns to leave, he turns away from the bars and goes back to his seat on the floor across from them. He has nothing left to say - to anyone, really, and not just the one before him currently. He hasn't had anything to say to any of them for days.
But he knows he can't shake their company. For now, he'll just take the spiteful, bitter glee that he can wring out of seeing Akira leave this place a failure and find his twisted peace in it.]
