[He is a digging unceremoniously through the meals in the convenience store, tossing them aside. Something kind of seems off, but he looks normal? Like Akira.
At his feet is on the ground is a very small, black kitten in a red ribbon. Its fur, however, is a patchy mess, and chunks of said fur are missing. The tail is up like an antennae, but it looks a little young to be left on the floor.
He pauses to glance at Hunter; his eyes shift to the bird and then down to the cat. Thee black, scraggly cat on the floor starts to wobble over, but Akira steps directly in front of it to block the path.
There's a certain lack in his eyes now, though it isn't stupidity. Something instinctual?]
w1, tues
Akira exchanges a glance with Hunter, but then looks at the entrance to the place with a frown.]
A carnival...?
no subject
He squints at the entrance like, actually, he changed his mind and would rather not be here.
They couldn't make up their minds on the decorations?
no subject
I think it might be the point.
[He's confused, but not scared, so he... just starts heading inside.]
no subject
[He follows, though, glancing around... and pokes one of the skeletons.
It rattles its apparently very real bones.]
no subject
[His head sort of snaps around when Hunter prods one of the skeletons.]
Stop, don't touch that. It might make you speak in tongues.
[Or who knows what else.]
no subject
What? We're already using our tongues.
[That's not what that means...]
no subject
You'll be using it to talk in a weird language no one can understand probably. This is hell, so it'll always be about your misery. Come on.
[He beckons Hunter to keep going.]
no subject
okay but he touches the skeleton again right after akira turns his back just to be contrarian and then follows after.]
... You know, this doesn't look all that different from a regular carnival.
[it looks sketchy and gross.]
no subject
What kind of carnival have you been to then...?
[NOT THE SKETCHY AND GROSS ONES.]
w2, monday
At his feet is on the ground is a very small, black kitten in a red ribbon. Its fur, however, is a patchy mess, and chunks of said fur are missing. The tail is up like an antennae, but it looks a little young to be left on the floor.
It mewls at Hunter.]
no subject
[A beat.]
Well, I haven't actually been to one. No time for that. But I've seen them.
no subject
Anyway, Hunter looks at this kitty? Looks at the mess Akira is making? Looks at the kitty again.
Slowly:]
Uh, new pet?
[Says Hunter, who has 1) a bird on his shoulder and 2) a tiny kitten just sleepily chilling in his pocket. It starts to wiggle out and meows back.]
no subject
He pauses to glance at Hunter; his eyes shift to the bird and then down to the cat. Thee black, scraggly cat on the floor starts to wobble over, but Akira steps directly in front of it to block the path.
There's a certain lack in his eyes now, though it isn't stupidity. Something instinctual?]
It was dead, now it's back.
no subject
Hunter... isn't sure what to make of that look in his eyes. But.]
—It was dead?
no subject
It was too weak to survive, so it died.
[He puts some of the food he's found in his search in his mouth.]
no subject
Of course it's too weak. It's a kitten.
[The loss effect really be doing something to Akira, huh. Hunter squints at him.]
Where'd you find it, anyway?
